In 1923, President Harding and his wife came west to dedicate a portion of the old Oregon Trail. At the ceremony, local chiefs presented the first lady with a Pendleton shawl inspired by the famous Chief Joseph Blanket.  One of the most popular Pendleton designs, this version is offered with oatmeal background, motifs in taupe and accents in shades of terra cotta, soft gold and sage green.

Hand-knotted from 100% Swiss-dyed New Zealand wool at 80 knots to the inch, these thick-pile rugs are a testament to craftsmanship. The wool is hand-spun, which when dyed achieves a variegated color, lending richness to every design.
Dimensions

Standard sizes typically in stock at the warehouse. Selections are standard in feet, Example 8x10 is 8 feet x 10 feet. All dimensions are approximate due to variations in hand-crafted rugs. Please message us if you have strict requirements for your space so that we can be sure of fit.
Materials + Construction

Our weavers in India start with Swiss-dyed 100% New Zealand wool. Each rug is hand-knotted by a skilled weaver in certified child labor free workshops, to a pre-designed grid at 50-70 knots per inch depending on the design.

Build and Delivery Time Frames

Most all of our hand-knotted rugs are in stock with our importer and are delivered vis UPS in 10-12 days. Once we receive your order, we will reach out to you with the expected delivery date and subsequent tracking information. If the item is not in stock, there may be one on a loom in the production process, so just reach out to us if you want to verify the exact shipping time.

Sample Information

Monitor settings vary, so we always recommend seeing the actual colors of our carpets in your home. Plus, we want you to experience the quality construction so that you trust your investment in one of our hand-knotted rugs. Just purchase the smallest size available and we'll ship it with a return label so that you can send it back for a refund when you've made your choices on a larger rug.

All of our hand-knotted rugs are made from 100% wool. The lanolin in natural sheep's wool makes it naturally stain resistant and easy to spot-clean. These materials determine the quality of the rug, and the knot count determines the intricacy of the pattern that can be woven. Ours range from 60-80 knots per inch, except the Morris Arts and Crafts, which is a stunning 256.

Many hand-knotted rugs are shaved flat, but ours (with the exception of the Stained Glass Green and Gold) have a pile height of approximately 5/8".

Every hand-knotted rug is meant to last for generations. Regular vacuuming, spot-cleaning and professional cleaning once every few years is enough to keep these rugs in great shape. Their construction means that any excessive wear or damage that happens over time can be repaired.
