In Amish country, they don't fix what isn't broken. Our Arch bookcase has the slightest hint of decoration in a simple arch top and bottom, which breaks up the straight lines and showcases your pottery, books, or other prized possessions. Classic in cherry with natural finish or more modern in maple with a darker stain.

Materials & Construction

Built by a collective of Amish builders dedicated to bringing the highest quality furniture in the industry to you. They started in 1992 by building wooden children's toys and household accessories. They soon developed into cabinetry and fine hardwood furniture. Each piece is built to be worthy of being handed down to the next generation of your family. The Process: The finest selection of hardwood logs, harvested exclusively from sustainable forests, are taken to the sawmill. Boards are then carefully stacked and dried to assure proper seasoning before the manufacturing process begins Once seasoned, state-of-the-art woodworking machinery produces panel and frame components to incredibly close tolerances. Finally, they start assembling a piece of furniture; time-honored techniques for joinery, such as dovetailing, tongue-and-groove, box joints, and mortise-and-tenon, all have been used for centuries to construct furniture that stands the test of time and also provides unique aesthetic appeal. Once a piece of furniture is assembled, hand techniques are employed to make each piece of furniture a one-of-a-kind treasure. Hours of sanding, planing, and, in some cases, distressing ensure that each piece of furniture bears the special signature of the craftsperson to whom it was assigned, and that it is ready for the application of one of dozens of custom finishes. Applying custom finishes uses a combination of automated spray application, hand-sanding and wiping techniques. The result is a finish that enhances the beauty of the species of wood selected, while at the same time providing protection and beauty that only improves with the patina that time creates.
