Frank Lloyd Wright was commissioned by Frank Thomas in 1901 to build his first Prairie style house in Oak Park, Illinois. It contains some of his most intricate art glass designs.
The pattern of this decorative tile is adapted from Wright's design for the art glass panels and doors in the small, jewel-like entry vestibule of the house. This space is made up of seven doors which form three of the vestibules four walls. Art glass skylight panels provide yet more daylight from overhead.
Actual tile size: 3.8 inches wide x 7.8 inches high
